Essential camping skincare products

If you’re a lover of the outdoors like I am, you may notice that the elements don’t always leave your skin looking or feeling its best…

That’s where a simple, clean, and nature-friendly camping skincare routine comes in.

Camping isn’t just about roughing it in the wild – it’s a lifestyle that embraces nature’s wonders while taking care of ourselves. And what better way to do that than with skincare products that are designed to protect, nourish, and rejuvenate?

In this blog, I’ll dive into the world of camping skincare, sharing must-have products that make your daily skincare routine simple and effective while ensuring your skin is prepped for all your adventures.

So, park your RV, breathe in the fresh air, and let’s dive into the skincare products that allow you to live your most adventurous life. Because when nature calls, your skin deserves to answer with radiance and resilience.

Just a heads up — this post may contain affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you!) if you choose to make a purchase. I only share products I genuinely love and think you will too. Thanks for your support!

Why Choose Non-Toxic Sunscreen?

When it comes to spending time outside camping, one of the best ways to keep your skin protected is with a quality non-toxic, mineral sunscreen.

The right sunscreen can help prevent sun damage and even regenerate new skin cells while fighting against existing damage that might be hiding in plain sight.

I am not a 100% perfect human being who always remembers to put on sunscreen. I am also abundantly aware that the annual burn is a thing (if you’re a fellow pale person, you already know).

However, I firmly believe that once you find the right SPF products, you’ll actually want to put on sunscreen which makes it easier to incorporate into your skincare routine.

It’s taken me four years to test sunscreen products that aren’t full of toxic chemicals that leach into your bloodstream and wreak havoc on your hormone health.

Some of them were immediate winners; others left strange residues, lacked SPF protection, triggered allergic reactions, or had a bizarre texture.

But after all that trial and error, I FINALLY found two clean, non-toxic facial sunscreen products that are my go-to for summer and winter adventures:

6 Best Non-Toxic Camping Skincare Products

1. Iris & Romeo Weekend Skin Facial Sunscreen

This luminous sunscreen has quietly become my everyday essential, and my non-negotiable camping skincare staple.

This luminous sunscreen has become my everyday essential and my favorite “no-makeup” confidence boost.

There’s something powerful about a product that protects your skin and makes it look instantly better. The right sunscreen doesn’t just shield you from UV damage (SPF 40+ is the dermatologist-recommended minimum for daily facial protection), it can blur, smooth, and give you that healthy, rested glow in seconds.

No foundation. No tinted layers. No extra steps.

Just silky, breathable coverage that melts into your skin and leaves it looking even, fresh, and quietly radiant.

Iris & Romeo Weekend Skin SPF 50 + Vitamin C does exactly that. It layers beautifully over skincare, feels weightless, and gives me that subtle luminosity that makes me feel pulled together — whether I’m heading out for coffee or packing for a weekend in the woods.

It’s skincare. It’s protection.

And it’s that instant “I feel good in my skin” energy.

2. Kinship Self Reflect Sport Facial Sunscreen

When you’re packing your camping skincare kit, make sure you toss the Kinship Self Reflect Sport Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 60 in your go-bag.

This lightweight, hydrating, mineral sunscreen is a must for those who love to supplement camping with hiking, water sports, winter sports, or exploring.

I went through a free sample tube of this sunscreen faster than any other sample I’ve received in my adult life.

It’s a staple in my skincare cabinet that makes my skin feel amazing, which is atypical for sunscreen.

Now that we’ve covered facial sunscreens to add to your camping skincare collection, let’s talk about SPF lip balm.

3. Kinfield Liplock SPF 15 Lip Balm

It can be easy to forget to pack SPF lip balm, or any lip balm at all when you’re prone to embarking on spontaneous adventures.

But on windy mornings or after you’ve spent hours under the sun, your lips will be parched — I guarantee.

That’s why I have built up my reservoir of lip care products.

I stash them in my car, camper, and whatever bag I’m carrying that week so any time I need a hit of moisture, I have what I need within reach.

But when it comes to an SPF lip balm for your camping skincare routine, Kinfield Liplock SPF 15 Lip Balm is my top choice.

This mineral, broad-spectrum SPF lip balm is vegan and packed with fruit oils and seed butters that will leave your lips soft and supple while you’re hitting the slopes or sitting by the stove cooking breakfast at camp.

If you’re looking for a protective lip care product that adds a subtle, or not so subtle, color to your lips, try an SPF tinted lip balm from Sun Bum.

4. The Giver Illuminative Cleansing Oil & Makeup Dissolver

If you aren’t already on the oil cleansing train, let me formally invite you to hop on board!

The Giver Illuminative Cleansing Oil by Wabi Sabi Botanicals was my first introduction to oil cleansing.

Its lightweight formula, non-toxic ingredients, luxurious glass packaging, and frankincense scent make it truly a wonderful product.

The oil — comprised of Sapote fruit oil, Moringa leaf oil, Roselle hibiscus oil, and roasted coffee bean extract — melts away makeup, dirt, and grime, leaving your face feeling supple and moisturized.

Each use only requires two to three pumps of product to cleanse your entire face and neck. Yay for long-lasting cleansing products!

Cleansing oils are the best way to wash the day off your face when camping since they require minimal amounts of water and dissolve dirt from your pores.

Typically, I use my kettle to heat my water, pour that water into a bowl, and soak a Swedish dishcloth in the hot water before wiping the cleansing oil off my face.

This method has worked well for me ever since my first camping trip in my travel trailer, which was almost two years ago!

Did I mention that Wabi Sabi Botanicals is a woman-owned small business?

If you’re looking for a cleansing oil that will elevate your self-care routine at home and on the road, snag The Giver Illuminative Cleansing Oil before it sells out again.

5. Primally Pure Everything Spray

When Primally Pure says this is an EVERYTHING spray, boy do they mean it. I have gone through at least seven bottles of this spray since I first came across this spray.

It’s formulated with versatile, potent ingredients that do the hard work for you, it’s the ideal addition to a skincare routine that still works when you’re on the go. w

You can use this clean, natural healing spray and toner to:

  • Soothe and calm irritated skin
  • Disinfect and heal your skin
  • Naturally balance pH levels
  • Tone skin anywhere on the body
  • Prevent ingrown hairs
  • Refresh your underarms

As a diagnosed itchy girl with contact dermatitis, I fell in love with how gentle and effective this spray is.

It helps calm my irritated skin quickly even if my skin is simply annoyed I spent too much time in the sun.

This Everything Spray is a work horse, and I highly recommend you add it to your camping skincare bag.

6. Primally Pure Antioxidant Balm

Yes, Primally Pure earned another spot in my camping skincare routine recommendations.

So far, I’ve gone from first line of defense on your skin to products that help heal your skin from the inside out — which is why this balm is last one the list.

The Antioxidant Balm is a must-have healing balm that will infuse your skin with the support it needs to stay strong, regardless of how much time you spend in the great outdoors.

I flew through my first jar of Everything Balm (the beloved sister to the Antioxidant Balm) which is fantastic for healing hot spots, keeping my lips supple, and supporting my non-toxic slugging routine at night.

But, for my camping adventures, I really have to reach for the Antioxidant Balm.

It’s full of natural ingredients that are designed to flood your skin with the vitamins and nutrients it needs to live its best life wherever the wind takes you.

The meticulously crafted list of ingredients focus on delivering antioxidant-rich botanicals to restore elasticity + vibrancy back to your complexion. Who doesn’t want that?

Knowing how effective the Everything Balm is, it’s a no brainer that Primally Pure’s Antioxidant Balm is the ideal companion for overnight restoration on long days spent outside.

Here’s a quick look at the benefits this balm provides outdoor and indoor enthusiasts alike:

  • Intensely moisturizes skin
  • Replenishes collagen levels
  • Improves skin’s elasticity, texture and tone
  • Stimulates skin’s reparative processes
  • Protects from UV damage, inflammation and premature aging
  • Repairs pigmentation (from sun damage or scarring)

Snag your new go-to balm at Primally Pure and feel confident that your camping skincare routine can keep up with your free spirit.

Elevate Your Camping Skincare Line Up

As you pack up your gear and bid farewell to the wilderness, remember that your skincare routine doesn’t have to take a vacation.

With the right products in your go-bag, you can continue to nurture and protect your skin, no matter where your adventures take you.

So, whether you’re hiking through rugged terrain, lounging by the lake, or stargazing under the night sky, let your skincare regimen support you through every new experience.

Here’s to countless more camping trips filled with breathtaking views and unforgettable memories – and to keeping your skin healthy and radiant along the way. Until next time, happy camping!
